Markus Lupfer AW16

Luxurious outerwear is a focus: a body-swamping chunky corduroy cape is a collection highlight; meanwhile cropped shearling jackets jostle for attention with the riveted black leather jacket, punctuated with signature gold ML lips.
The brand’s iconic kick continues to make its impact felt in the cult sequined fine-knit-gauge, merino wool sweaters, this season starring the studio pug, Leo, traced in gun metal and silver, alongside Rocket Man sunglasses developed with Linda Farrow. Cable knit gets an equally sparky update when traced in gold; argyle feels fresh when superimposed on camel in pink opal beads. The handbag collection, which made its debut as part of the Pre-Fall 2016 collection, goes from strength to strength. Taking centre stage is the Riley tote, rendered in Italian-sourced leather, followed by a chorus line of studded and jewel-embellished cross-body Casey bags, and the Parker pouch. The finishing touch? Star-speckled and flower embroidered square-toed boots made for dancing.

Softly does it: the Markus Lupfer woman never sleeps, and Autumn/Winter 2016 caters for her 24 hour lifestyle
without compromising on polish. A quirky sophisticate, she glides through her day, transitioning from work to
play with easy charm. How to semaphore the season’s mellow mood? It’s all in the details: a sprinkling of stars,
sweetened frills and naïve embellishment plough a bold romantic furrow
